Falahari aloo tikki is a simple snack recipe to enjoy during vrats or fasts. Vrat aoo tiki with crisp outside , soft inside and with lovely cashew filing and is a real treat to taste buds at any time.

Ingredients to make Vrat wale aloo tikki
1- 3 boiled potatoes
2- Kuttu aata 3 tsp
3- 2-3 green chillies chopped
4- Ginger finely chopped
5- Roasted cashew and peanutes finely chopped
6- Jeera powder 1 tsp
7- Sendha namak as per taste
8- Chopped coriander leaves with stem
Method to make Vrat wale aloo tikii
1- Pressure cook potatoes for 5-6 whistles
2- Mash poatoes
3- Add Kuttu ka aata and combine it well.
4- Make a mixture of chopped cashews ,peanuts , chopped coriander , green chillies, ginger and add Cumin powder and sendha namak.
5- Divide the mixture into small or medium shaped tikkis with a hollow center or cup shaped discs. You can apply some oil on your palms when making the tikki.
6- Place the cashew filling in the centre.
7- Bring the mashed potato edges on the top and seal them.
8- Roll gently between your palms and gently flatten. Make all tikki this way.
9- Heat 2 tablespoons Ghee on a non stick pan or frying pan till it is medium hot. Gently place the tikki and begin to pan-fry them.
10- When the base is crispy and golden, gently flip each tikki with a spatula.
11- Fry the second side till crispy and golden. You can gently flip once or twice more till the aloo tikki are golden and crisp evenly.
12- Remove and place in a strainer kept on top of a bowl. You can even drain them on paper towels. Fry all tikki this way. Add 2 tablespoons more oil when frying the second batch.
